Born Oscar Daniel Hernandez, Sept 4th, 1981 in Aurora, IL.
Danny grew up surrounded by music. Whether it was watching his relatives performing live on television in front of millions, or just listening to his family recite their favorite songs. He feels he was honored to grow up during what he calls the “Golden Age” of Hip Hop, spending countless hours listening to artists like Organized Konfusion, Del, Blackmoon, Freestyle Fellowship, Gangstarr, Wu-Tang, etc.
In Jr High, he turned his appreciation for Hip Hop into his own form of expression. He created a name for himself as Praze1 & began writing lyrics and performing at small shows, MC Battles, & house parties. He quickly got the attention of local Hip Hop crews such as PoBUMS, Self-Xplanatory, Def Crime Unit, ThemBaddApples & Nite Crawlaz.
At the age of 17, his persona shifted. He no longer considered himself a “Battle” emcee, and began to focus his writings on expressing his frustrations, fears, & philosophies on life. It was at that time that he began calling himself ‘.evolvE’ The period in the front was the ‘start of a new beginning’, the lower case letters symbolized the journey of finding one’s self, and the capital ‘E’ symbolized the end of the road, ‘gaining self knowledge’ if you will. .evolvE started making his own beats, and considering himself a producer.
