  • re-listening to the akira ost and DAMN does it have an influence on Oneohtrix Point Never
  • Eargasm from "Kaneda" to "Requiem". The best OST 4ever, for me!
  • @DarkJesus similar artists will never be satisfactory because Geinoh Yamashirogumi have quite a very unique sound which you can't easily find in other artists. It also doesn't sound like typical score music at all even if you would compare it to contemporary japanese score music. It's true that japanese scoring, specifically in the anime genre, do also often use soft synths the same way Yamashirogumi does but they don't incorporate ethnic and traditional sounds like you hear on the Akira score. The only score that I found a bit related in sound to Akira is Kenji Kawai's score for Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. It has the same kind of eccentricity you hear in Akira.
