About This Track
Passion’s English-language counterpart is Sanctuary, which was released as a bonus track on Utada’s second Engish album This Is The One.
Passion’s music video was filmed in China by her then-husband 紀里谷 和明 (Kazuaki Kiriya). The animation segment in the beginning of the video was created by 森本晃司 (Koji Morimoto), one of Japan’s premier Japanese animation directors.
The single is also the theme song for the Square-Enix/Disney video game, Kingdom Hearts II. It is the successor to her previous single 光 (Hikari), featured on DEEP RIVER, which is the theme song for the first Kingdom Hearts game.
