Fujifabric (フジファブリック) is a Japanese rock band formed in 2000, whose influences span from jazz to disco to progressive rock. Members include:
Shimura Masahiko is the only original member of Fujifabric, he is the lyricist, vocalist, and rhythm guitarist of the group. He was born on July 10th, 1980 in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. He passed away due to unknown causes on December 24th, 2009.
Kanazawa Daisuke joined the band in January 2003, replacing the former keyboardist. He was born on February 9th, 1980 in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.
Katou Shinichi joined the band at the same time as Kanazawa, in January 2003. He is the bassist of the band. He was born on August 2nd, 1980 in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.
Yamauchi Souichirou joined Fujifabric in January 2004 as lead guitarist. He was born on October 25th, 1981 in Osaka Prefecture, Japan.

I was really disappointed with STAR cause I was thinking about it as a "Fujifabric release". But, considering Shimura used to write the majority of their songs, it's pretty comprehensible that the songs sound different. Maybe they really should have changed the band name, but well. New Fujifabric.

i know hes been in the band since a la mode..but his backup vocals were better infact they were superb ..try songs like strawberry shortcakes..he had beautiful back up vocals..but his lead voice sounds too nasally. but his voice was good on the previous songs he sung for (MUSIC album etc) i guess i can learn to adjust

Yamauchi has been in the band since A La Mode, it's not the same without Shimura but I like his voice. And I love the new album, especially Echo and Splash, sounds like Teenager.

New album is out Sept 21st, I love Yamauchi's vox on 会いに so I'm sure they'll do Shimura proud :) They really need another guitarist though, you can't play Fujifabric live with only one guitar.
