Biography

There are two Japanese bands with the name A.

A (エース), pronounced ‘ACE’, short for “Anonymous Confederate Ensemble” is a Japanese visual-kei band that formed during their first live at Laforet Museum (Roppongi) on April 18, 2010. The band’s first line-up consisted of vocalist Nimo, guitarist Mucho Gracias, bassist Toshi and violinist Rookie Fiddler.
In July 2010 they took part in “Stylish Wave” tour with several dates all over Japan.

A’s song ‘Rhapsody in Black’ was featured on the Amethyst omnibus that was released February 2, 2010. The band released a new demo cd for six consecutive months. On October 27th, A released their first mini-album “BLACK ALBUM”, a compilation of the six concept demos wit the theme “heavy and beautiful; dark symphonic songs from the beginning phase of A”, at their live at SHIBUYA-AX.
A’s first single “Yoake no Anthem/NUDE” was released December 22, 2010 followed by the participation on “stylish wave COUNTDOWN’10-‘11”. ‘Grafton Calling’, a live only release was sold at A’s live on March 5, 2011 at Urawa Narciss followed by monthly live distributions, which were put together on “WHITE ALBUM”, a concept album with the theme of “Traveling the world seas”, which was only obtainable at their One-man live “evil Alive” at Ikebukuro CYBER on 2011/08/27 and is sold out.

They also took part in BLUE PLANET JAPAN with known acts such as heidi. and more, whereas Rookie Fiddler wrote the music for that Japan relief song.
Their first one-man live was held on August 27, 2011 at Ikebukuro Cyber. After that, they released “BLACK & WHITE ALBUM”. At their one-man “THANKS GIVING DAY 2011” at Ikebukuro Cyber on November 11th, 2011 guitarist Mucho Gracias “departed”. However, their OHP says “now traveling” and he occasionally has gigs with A. He promised to keep posting on his twitter while travelling though. He is still a member of A but he won’t be at the gigs. He also said there is a probability to play with band someday again. In that period, they also held some acoustic live events, which have been released as Bonus DVD on their 2nd album “Tales for the Abyss”.

In 2012 they released their 3rd single “Night of the Knights” on album “Tales for the Abyss” and announced their European Tour “Absolute Conquest of Europe” with almost 20 gigs all over Europe, some as a coupling event with their befriended band Anli Pollicino. Also, singer Nimo collaborates with jewelry brand “Strange Freak Designs”. On July 1st, 2012 they will have another One-man at SHIBUYA BOXX titled “Abyss”.
