Seoul, South Korea (2007 – present)

Seo Joo-hyun (stage name: Seohyun; Hangul: 서현; born June 28, 1991 in Seoul, South Korea) is a South Korean idol singer, pianist, model, spokesmodel, and member of the South Korean idol group, Girls’ Generation and its sub-unit, TaeTiSeo.

Discovered at the “2003 SM Casting System,” Seohyun is the “maknae” or youngest of the group, and was an SM Entertainment trainee for six years and six months. She is currently an MC of “Show! Music Core” along with fellow Girls’ Generation members Taeyeon and Tiffany.

She attended Seoul Middle School and Daeyoung High School, then transferred to Jeonju Arts High School, from which she graduated on February 9, 2010 and currently attends Dongguk University with her fellow member, Yoona.

Seohyun is able to speak conversational Japanese alongside fellow member Sooyoung, and some Chinese, along with group member HyoYeon.

Career

Girls’ Generation

Seohyun was casted by SM Entertainment in 2003. In 2007, she was chosen as a member of the group Girls’ Generation. The 9-member girl group debuted on August 5, 2007.
SM Town released the Girls Generation Subunit Album with song title, “Twinkle” and the artists are taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun. The full-audio of the “Twinkle” album was made available on iTunes on April 29, 2012 and the MV was released on April 30, 2012

Solo releases

Seohyun released various singles with Jessica and Tiffany — the first called “Oppa Nappa” (Korean: “오빠 나빠”, Bad Older Brother)[9] and the second titled “Mabinogi (It’s Fantastic!)”, a theme song for a video game.
