Seoul, South Korea (1986 – present)

Kim Wan-Sun (김완선), born Kim I-Seon (김이선) on May 16, 1969 in Seoul, South Korea, is a South Korean pop music icon. Considered by many to be “Korea’s Madonna,” she is known for her distinct looks and vocals, and has amassed an array of hits from her debut in 1986 through the early 1990s. Most notably, Sun’s fifth studio album, “A Clown Laughing At Us,” (삐에로는 우릴 보고 웃지), released in 1990, produced three consecutive #1 songs and sold more than 1 million copies in South Korea alone. In the mid-1990s, she achieved success in Taiwan, releasing three albums in Mandarin under the name of Jin Yuan-Xuan (金元萱).

Sun returned to the music world in April 2011, releasing the “Super Love” EP, and returned to the international spotlight with her smash electro-pop single, “Be Quiet”, featuring Yong Jun-Hyung (용준형) of B2ST.
