Biography

Michihiro Kuroda (黒田倫弘), or “Rin” to his fans, was born in Kyoto in 1972. While still in secondary school, he was the singer in a tribute band for the band UNICORN. After graduating a technical school as an architect, he moved to Tokyo pursuing an opportunity in music scene. While working in a karaoke bar, he recorded a demo tape which made its way to Daisuke Asakura/浅倉大介.

In 1996, he became the lead vocalist in the Japanese group Iceman. After five albums, he left claiming ‘artistic differences’ and started to work on a solo career in the year 2000, signing as an independent artist under the LEAPrecord label, and officially leaving Iceman in 2001.

During his solo career he has acted in 2 movies: tsuki no akari - Nobody can get away from the moonight (2002) and ROUTE58 ver. zero (2004). He also wrote three books. He is probably best known for singing “Shining Collection” from the Gravitation anime or for the ending song “Yakusoku” from Elemental Gelade.

The song Yakusoku appeared on his fifth album, In Depth, along with the brother track from the same single, “Break the Status Quo”. In recording his In Depth album, Michihiro came in contact with Kenichi Ito/伊藤賢一 also from Iceman. After the album and tour, the two decided to form the band SCARECROW, bringing into the mix Hideki Mizue and Masanori Ishibashi. Hideki had been working with Kenichi in his solo projects, but Masanori is a relatively new face, only having the band Back Born Beast before he joined SCARECROW.
