Biography

By turns cuddly and chaotic, Taipei’s Peppercats mixes noise, sugary melodies, and an experimental spirit into sweetly challenging and utterly distinctive music. The group began as the brainchild of bassist/vocal Sheria, guiarist Clock and drummer Ruby in 2001; after a series of indie gigs and music festivals, they signed up under Expanding music studio, an artists agent of main stream label. Nothing went constructively during the period, Clock left the band in 2003, Xiaoyi joined the group after 2 months. After some time, Peppercats released their full-length debut ” I saw UFO” in 2005 by their own with producer Kidpunk, also they terminated the contract with Expanding in the same year. In 2006, Xiaoyi left the band, Xiao P joined the group, his powerful guitar brought new elements into the rotten body. The second album “Everbody is gay” released in 2007, Peppercats is finally formed by Sheria, Ruby and XiaoP. Sheria left for London in 2008, and then stayed in Czech Republic until 2009, they are gathering for the 3rd album and new touring right away.
