羽毛田丈史 translated into English is Takefumi Haketa. I know this artist from the Vampire Knight anime soundtracks. I discovered these songs from watching the Vampire Knight anime (duh :p) and as I did I noticed the music more and more.
Now I'm a huge fan of Vampire Knight so I watched the anime a lot, but overall the anime wasn't that great compared to the manga. The thing that blew me away with this anime was the background music. It was so apparent throughout the series and once I really started to listen to it away from the anime I heard how pretty it was.
My favorite songs are on the more somber note, but the way he incorporates a bunch of different instruments really makes the songs come alive in a way. I find myself listening to these songs when I need some background noise for homework but I don't want distracting lyrics, if I'm in a sad mood and want to get over it with music, or even when I try to sleep. The songs calm me down enough to make anything seem like it's slowing down and I can either focus of fall asleep.
