Yaguchi Mari was one of the second generation members of Morning Musume. She’s well-known for her “sexy beam” line from Koi no Dance Site, as well as for being the smallest member of the group at only 145 cm (4 ft. 9 in.) and 39 kg (86 lbs.). She has released three photobooks as well as an essay book.
She suddenly quit Morning Musume in April 2005 after the public discovered that she was in a relationship with a young actor, Oguri Shun, though it has been reported that they have since broken up.
She has not released any new music recordings since leaving Morning Musume, although she continues to appear on television and at live events on behalf of Hello! Project. She also co-hosts Yaguchi Hitori, a weekly entertainment news TV show, and has starred in two daytime dramas.
She will graduate from Hello!Project with the rest of Elder Club on March 31, 2009.
