Hyacca (pronounced “hyakka”; translation = one hundred mosquitoes) is a female fronted post-punk band residing in the south-western city of Fukuoka, Japan.
Their music is equal parts Bad Brains, My Bloody Valentine, Neu! and Tera Melos fusing together lightning speed punk with shoegaze soundscapes.

The four members of Hyacca are all “salarymen” working long endless hours with low prestige in a corporate hierarchy. Each member is incredibly friendly and mild mannered so playing in Hyacca acts as a healthy outlet for the pent up rage, anxiety and frustration of work. On stage Hyacca transform from peaceful swan to a rampaging juggernaut gone berserk.

Add orgasmic changes in tempo, alien-like distortion effects, dual male/female screams and vocals and unrelenting raw power to spice the sonic maelstrom up even further.
Noisy and aggressive but fiercely melodic and extremely danceable, hyacca sound great on CD but are tenfold more furious, fun and intense experienced live.

Hyacca’s music is a cerebral blend of lightning speed punk, krautrock rhythms and intricate, angular riffs. Guttural male/female screams and vocals, rapid changes in tempo and otherworldly guitar tones are also components of Hyacca’s unique sound.
However, despite the furious onslaught of guitar and drums Hyacca has dance music at its core.
