Biography
During her childhood, she found the inspiration to become a pianist from Shunji Iwai (岩井俊二)’s soundtrack for the movie LOVE LETTER and All About Lily Chou-Chou. In the spring of 2005, Makino began to sing for Youko Kanno’s song for the anime Sousei no Aquarion ending theme titled ‘Omna Magni’. Later she was credited for the voice of Sakura of Tsubasa Chronicle and sang the theme song, ‘Amrita’, which gained a lot of attention. The single ‘you are my love’ marked the debut release of her as a pianist. The opening theme for the second season of the anime ARIA The Animation, ‘Euphoria’ was extremely well received and debuted 18th on the Oricon chart.
In 2006, she served the role of the heroine for the anime NHK ni Youkoso! also sang the ending theme, ‘Modokashii Sekai no Ue de’, and released her long awaited first album, ‘Tenkyuu no Ongaku’, in December of the same year.
Makino is currently focused on expanding her activities as a voice actor.
