Biography

Jun Shibata is a Japanese singer-songwriter. Her songs are mainly pop ballads with an approach to classical music which is influenced by her childhood classical piano lesson. Many of her songs are of slow and medium tempo and/or ballads expressive of fragility. Occasionally her soft vocals are accompanied by herself on the piano.

In her early stages of her singing career, she was known to have traveled extensively nation-wide to perform live at local record stores in front of small crowds. She has provided lyrics to the well-known Japanese singing-duo Chemistry for their song “Tsukiyo”.

Currently, she has six albums, two compilation albums, and numerous singles. Her latest single, Ai wo Suru Hito is scheduled for September 2008.
