Journal

  • OHAI!

    31 Oct 2010, 20:32 by l3xforever

Welcome to the second semi-annual journal entry on what I was listening to lately (har, har).

A quick note about my ratings:
    1 is for worthless crap
2 is being a neutral point
    3 is for enjoyable experience
    4 is for great
    5 is for epic win

So, in the order of discovery (somewhat). Most noteworthy.

    茅原実里
    優しい忘却 - ★★★★☆
I'm not sure how I've stumbled upon this single. One song 3 times and then once again. But it's good. I guess.

    Mezzamo
    Aloneluna - ★★★★☆
That was the album that I found first. It was so great, so I've gone through all the troubles to find their previous works. Best of all, you can get their works for free and donate whatever you feel like as a thank you in return.
    Other works that I've got:
    Многоточие - ★★★★☆
Their first album. It's Russian and it's somewhat different from Aloneluna, but still very good.
    12.04 - ★★☆☆☆
A little single to fill the time until their next album (that should be out very soon). Even more different direction that I didn't like very much.

  • My pants

    4 Dec 2006, 22:19 by agrilledfish

Set your media player on shuffle and put the first fifteen song names + in my pants.

    01. Horn Dance in my pants.
    This one's a bit disturbing...

    02. Katakana Dub in my pants.
Okay, that doesn't really make sense.

    03. Wata Houshi in my pants.
I looked up "Wata Houshi" and it means "Cotton spore." I think I have an STD.

    04. Lost Something in my pants.
    I've got to find that...

    05. Sheep Creep in my pants.
    Haha, bestiality

    06. Mars Machine in my pants.
    Sweet.

    07. Midget in my pants.
    Okay, that's slightly perverted.

    08. Patter in my pants.
    Oops.

    09. Tha Playground in my pants.
    That's one terrible euphemism.

    10. Don't Kill Me in my pants.
    Please don't.

    11. alone in the dark in my pants.
That would be a scary situation.

    12. Battle Without Honor Or Humanity in my pants.
    ...

    13. Complecks Baby in my pants.
    I think that's illegal.

    14. Let My Fish Loose in my pants.
It's disturbing how many of these make sense.

    15. Real Racecars Have Doors in my pants.

  • Flower of carnage

    22 Nov 2006, 05:53 by uncletaga

After I'd viewed both parts of Kill Bill movie, I've tried to find soundtrack and about a year ago I've succeeded. And I was surprized with this medley of rock and pop music. This was the first time I've encountered the name of Meiko Kaji (Meiko Kaji, sometimes it's displayed in hieroglyphs, the only ones in my journal and recent tracks list). Listening to amazing track Flower of Carnage resulted in high interest to her music. And about two months ago I've found it, her album Zenkyoku Shu. Despite this music isn't a rock music, I love it, because these japanese musical compositions look like my native tatar songs.

Besides, when I had been in trouble what to present to my frined on his birthday, I've tried to find album of Meiko Kaji in good moscow music store "Purple Legion" but not succeeded, then I've bought and presented him the album of Tomoyasu Hotei (Tomoyasu Hotei) named Electric Samurai, which includes the track Battle Without Honor Or Humanity from mentioned movie. …

  • Top 150 Songs Game

    22 Jun 2006, 21:26 by Zoethustra

My friend, Brian, and some of his friends created this game. Basically (if you are playing with 3 people), you have a list of 150 slots and two people suggest one song each that they think should be on the "150 Best Songs" list. The person who is holding the paper decides where each song should go on the list. Then the person passes the paper on to one of the other people and the process is repeated until the whole list is filled. The results are interesting because usually the middle gets filled up first and you are left with best and worst of the list...usually you get some strange results in the top ten.

Rules: You can only use an artist only once (you can use The Beatles once and John Lennon once...you just can't use the Beatles twice). Civers can make the list, but the cover and the original can't both be on the list.

Here's how ours went (the one's with the *'s are mine):

    150. Come Sail Away...if it were up to me Styx would not be on this list at all, so to make up for it I put it last.

  • 1:03:28 of blacktop rush

    4 Mar 2006, 05:50 by The_Custodian

Allow me to offer a small poor set for use at high speed, optionally at night, for best results on well-paved curvy road, with your favorite motorized steed at your command.

For those of you like me who are slaves to the pretty, try here to suck it down directly to podly goodness.

    Otherwise, here:

    1. Radar Love
    2. Illegal Left
    3. Crazy Train
    4. Sabotage
    5. Ten Miles Back
    6. Push and Shove
    7. Born To Move
    8. Matador
    9. Murder
    10. Madskillz - Mic Chekka
    11. Sugarless
    12. Cowgirl (1994)
    13. Battle Without Honor Or Humanity

...coffee plus crisp fall air plus headlights plus godsend gasoline plus power plus speed plus eyes wide open and trailbrake for the apexes, boys and girls, remember why we were given heel-and-toe braking and sip the smell of aerosolized tire compounds.
