Biography

Michiru Oshima (大島ミチル) was born in the 16th of March, 1961. She graduated from the School of Composers at the Kunitachi College of Music. While she was still in school, she began working as an arranger, doing music work on movies, commercials, television programs, animated programs, institutions, and various other types of work, including the music for the anime Full Metal Alchemist. She also published the symphony Orasho while she was still in school. Using both orchestras and synthesizers, she had garnered attention from all over for her grand and dramatic sound and beautiful melodies. She has won various awards, including the Mainichi Movie Competition Music Award and the 21st, 24th, 26th, and 27th Japan Academy Music Awards.
