呼吸 (hūxī - The Breathing) was a Chinese rock formed in Beijing in 1988 by guitarists 高旗 (Gao Qi) and Cao Jun with bassist Gu Zhong and keyboard player Zhou Shidong. Various musicians filled the drum position, including Liu Xiaosong, Ma He, and 赵牧阳 (Zhao Muyang). With the addition of singer 蔚华 (Wei Hua), who was a well-known TV and radio personality in China, the band gained some fame as one of the top rock bands in the country.
Their self-titled album was released in 1991 or 1992, but the band called it quits in 1993, with wei hua going on to a solo career, and Gao Qi gaining fame by turning more towards metal with his band Overload. 赵牧阳 went on to a solo career, as well as working with a number of other bands, including The Dreaming, Red Army and Overload.
