KOBUDO (古武道) is a Japanese trio playing new instrumental music and was formed in May 2007. The current members are, cellist Nobuo Furukawa (古川展生), pianist Takeshi Senoo (妹尾武) and shakuhachi player Dozan Fujiwara (藤原道山).
Kobudō can be translated as meaning “old martial arts way” or “old school”. The characters for the groups name is formed by taking one character from each of their names.
