Hokkaido, Japan

Hideki Taniuchi (タニウチヒデキ, Taniuchi Hideki), born on November 15th in Hokkaido, Japan , is a Japanese musician and composer, best known for his work on composing soundtracks to anime series.

Aside from his work as composer, Taniuchi is also playing guitar in the Japanese Rockband Shocking Lemon.

In the recent years his popularity was increased due to his works for various anime series, such as Otogizōshi, Akagi, Kaiji and not least due to Death Note. For the latter, Taniuchi composed the 3 OSTs in collaboration with 平野義久 (Yoshihisa Hirano).

    @maruchu composer of Mouryou no Hako was Murai Shusei and he indeed wrote music for several episodes of Aoi Bingaku.

    Unsatisfaction, Hauatagune I heard aoi bungaku OST is made from different soundtracks, one of them is Mouryou no Hako, correct me if I'm wrong.

    Both Death Note and Kaiji have AMAZING soundtracks. They both managed to create the perfect atmosphere. (Although I prefer Kaiji, and not just the soundtrack but the show itself)

    I used to hate his contributions to the Death Note soundtracks because I thought they were boring and were only good within the context of the anime. Now I think they're great to listen to as stand-alone pieces of music. There's so much atmosphere to his music that they envelop me in a bubble of sound.
