it's second reason of fun.

~ I saw this band's video last year for the song "Blindfolds Aside" and I'll be honest I loved the instrumentals but hated the voice. It's not that he was a bad singer, I just felt his style of vocals didn't fit with the music at all. Many will disagree but hey, each one to their oppinion. This year just for the heck of it I gave a shot to "Sequoia Throne" and I loved it! The instrumental was amazing and the vocals were... well... at least they fitted better than "Blindfolds Aside". Then I came across "Bloodmeat" and I loved it so much I got the album. I still had this problem with the vocals fortunately after listening to this…

Do I like J-music? Not so much, to me it's pretty mediocre for the most part and... naive. Though have to admit it sounds a bit different, but Japanese are out of this world anyway. Here's my list of interesting J-artists which I made after a year of casual research. It goes like:

Sat 26 Apr – ARABAKI ROCK FEST.08

【一日目】
サンボマスター冷やかしたりして岩魚＆ビールうまい．佐世保バーガー行列に並んで食す．美味＆充足感．
メインステージMICHINOKUにてSUPER BUTTER DOG全曲観る．登場のMCにまず心躍る．
永積：「もうタテノリには飽き飽きだぜー」「セックス大好きですかー！？」（正確には違うかもしれないけどこんな感じ）
PA具合良い．腰にくるファンクに嬉しくなる．最後にはアコギで“サヨナラCOLOR”．じんと来る．素晴らしいステージ（結局今回の個人的ベスト・アクト）．
テントで夕方まで昼寝．天気が崩れてくる．
HATAHATAステージに移動してBoom Boom Satelites全曲．なんかいまひとつ乗れない．なんかクラウドのタテノリがおかしいというか，もっとダンス・マナーのセットの方が自分好み，BPMを抑え気味にやれば良いのに．野外ならではというアクトではないかなーと思った．
MICHINOKUをBGMに，雨がパラつく中コンロで肉を焼き酒をあおる．斉藤和義は良かった．
21時就寝．24時起きてHANAGASAのキャンプファイアにあたる．火を操る職人がプロっぽい仕事をしていて見入る．


【二日目】
HATAHATAのSpecial Others．寝っ転がって聴きたい．良い．
MICHINOKUに移動．曽我部恵一BAND全曲．ほんのり関心を抱いてる人を誘い込むのが巧いステージング．野外フェス向き．テレフォン・ラブが 昨年の山形サンディニスタでの演奏と一緒すぎて笑った．「いつものやつ」感覚なんだろうな．好きだ．後ろの方は知らないけど，前の方はとても盛り上がった．時折の日差しが神々しい．
テントでぐだぐだしながらエルレガーデンの異常な盛り上がりを体感する．皆さんお好きですねー．
MICHINOKUのエレファントカシマシ．最初は「あー良いよね」くらいだったのだけれど，“ガストロンジャー”の「もっと力強い生活をこの手に」と言うところで完全に持って行かれる．急遽顔が見えるところまで行く．最高のステージング．清志郎を凌ぐと個人的には思う．夕暮れの風が涼しい公園が似合う．野外で聴けて，来て良かったと痛感した時間．帰ったらCD聴こうと思った．
