The band began their activities at the end of 2008, and released their first demo CD, “In My Dream”, in July of 2009.
On September 23rd, 2009, the group released their first single entitled “Präparat”, which included three tracks; the single sold out immediately. During autumn 2009, they announced they were going on a hiatus since their guitarist, Schwarz, was leaving the band.
Later that year, they announced that they had found a new member in the form of Shiun, their permanent drummer.
In March of 2010, the band announced that they were going to release five new singles during the summer of 2010; one new single each month starting from May to September. The main title for all the singles is “世界を撃った男” (Sekai wo utta otoko), all the singles were released via SPEED-DISK Records.
In May of 2010, the band announced that their lineup would be completed by guitarist Billy. However, a mere few weeks later it was announced that Billy would be leaving the band due to his unstable physical condition.
On June 12th & 13th, 2010, Chemical pictures performed in Seoul, South Korea together with ダウト.
In September of 2010, the band announced that rui would be their new guitarist, and that they will be releasing a new mini-album in early 2011.
On November 8th, 2010, the group’s bassist, Jimi, announced that he would be leaving Chemical pictures on December 20th, 2010. Jimi stated that his reason for leaving was because he had yet to obtain his visa, and that he wanted to pursue a more stable life.
