カルメン・マキ (Carmen Maki, real name: Maki Annette Lovelace, born on May 18, 1951 in Kamakura, Kanagawa, Japan) is a Japanese singer who has worked in several genres. Her father was American and her mother Japanese.
Her career began in the late 1960s when she recorded a few folk and blues records, primarily as a part of the band Carmen Maki & Blues Creation, but also as a solo artist, with her debut album “真夜中の詩集 ろうそくが消えるまで” (Poems in the Midnight: Till the Candle Goes Out), released in 1969.

In the 1970s, she formed a rock band called Carmen Maki & OZ. Later she recorded a solo heavy metal album in 1979, in collaboration with the drummer Carmine Appice. She left music in 1984 due to health problems. After ten years of absence, she returned to music again in 1993.
