Japan (1992 – 1998, 2012 – present)

【zɔ́:diæ̀k】 / 【zo:diaek】 (simply known as Zodiac in the early days) is a band from Japan, originally formed in 1992 by 女爾 on vocals, Juni on guitar, Go on bass and AKI on drums. The band has an astrological concept, which is why most of their tour names and some song titles are related to zodiac signs or stars.

They started their activities in 1993 and held their first live in November where they also distributed the 幻聴 (Genchou) tape for free.

In September 1994 they were featured with two songs on the omnibus album Image Sonic, together with bands like o×b×j×e, Pride of Mind and Ér. After this release drummer AKI was replaced by Yomi and a second guitarist, Sine, joined the band. 女爾 changed his name to Die. From now on this was the bands final lineup which remained unchanged. Around this time the band also changed their name to the more complex spelling 【zɔ́:diæ̀k】.

In the next two years they held many live shows and released two demo tapes, Destiny to,,, and 輝いて… (Kagayaite…).

In March 1997 they finally had their first CD release, a mini album called 未来ノ未来 (Mirai no mirai). It was self-produced by the band and because it sold out pretty quickly, a second press was released in April with a slightly different cover.
In October the same year the band appeared on PONY CANYON’s omnibus HYPER-INDEX THE FINAL EVOLUTION 1997
