  • Where you end up if you listen to.. Whatever!

    6 Oct 2006, 13:39 by Sphynxx

This is part deux of my series, the first part is here. This one is devoted to Slayer...

For those who are not aware of the concept:
The idea is to go to the page of your number one artist, and follow the link of it's number one similar artist, then repeating that for this artist and so on, noting down each artist as you go. Do this until you've got to 50 artists (not including your number one). If you get any repeats, just go to the second similar artist or the nearest one that you haven't already had.

    Let the carnage begins!

    1. Slayer (\m/ indeed)
    2. Pantera
    3. Megadeth
    4. Metallica
    5. Iron Maiden

    No surprises so far...

    6. Judas Priest
    7. Black Sabbath
    8. Ozzy Osbourne
    9. Guns N' Roses
    10. AC/DC
    11. Led Zeppelin

Oh, no!! Now I can forsee that the thing is going to go the same way as the previous..

    12. Pink Floyd
    13. The Beatles
    14. The Rolling Stones
    15. The Who
    16. Cream
    17. Eric Clapton
    18. Dire Straits
    19. Mark Knopfler

    Been there.

    20. Soul Survivor

  • Here is the place where you end up while listening to Joy Division...

I've seen this thing in some random journal entry and decided to try it out...
    Here is my list:

The idea is to go to the page of your number one artist, and follow the link of it's number one similar artist, then repeating that for this artist and so on, noting down each artist as you go. Do this until you've got to 50 artists (not including your number one). If you get any repeats, just go to the second similar artist or the nearest one that you haven't already had.

    1. Joy Division
    2. The Smiths
    3. Morrissey
    4. The Cure
    5. David Bowie
    6. The Beatles
    7. Led Zeppelin
    8. Pink Floyd
    9. The Doors
    10. Jimi Hendrix
    11. The Rolling Stones
    12. The Who
    13. Cream

..Here I started worrying.. Too much repeats, I'm walking around the same number of bands. Too bad and too boring. Let's see what's next...

    14. Eric Clapton
    15. Dire Straits
    16. Mark Knopfler
    17. Soul Survivor

    ..Wow. Curioser and curioser..

    18. Paul Oakley
    19. Martyn Layzell
    20. Stuart Townend
