Biography

Серебряная Свадьба (“Serebryanaya Svad’ba”; “Silver Wedding” in English) was formed in 2005, in Minsk, Belarus. Sprightly company of banjo, contrabass, trumpet, violin, concertina, washing board, and drums under the command of tuba and in sight of public cooks astonishing cocktail from French cabaret songs, dixieland, country, Russian folk music and Latin-American rhythms in the manner of a street orchestra. In all concert adventures the musicians are accompanied by countless suitcases, full of church and kitchen stuff, bottles of different forms, lingerie, a pitiless Dog Baskerville with sparkling eyes, a Woman-Leech, cheating of men to the last penny, an inhabitant of Paris’ catacombs, blonde rat Emmanuel Kant and a lover of décolletés Monsieur Rook. In the repertoire there are songs in Russian and French, ironic, paradoxical and vital with the elements of clownery, puppet show, and cabaret.

The band’s performance is a cabaret, mixture of a slapstick, music, theatre, tricks, dolls and everything possible of this kind. . Songs-stories with their characters, heroes and heroines are lived before spectators’ eyes in all sincerity and honesty. Everything is about love, heart-rending sufferings and heart tortures. The songs are performed in Russian and French, a language of a dream. The main characters of these performances are : inhabitant of Paris’s sink Emmanuel Kant Rat, chick woman Leech, Baskerville Dog, Rook, suitcases, pistols and cognac. Romantics of suburban chanson, people of hard destiny but high flight make it their aim to raise the total degree of cordiality all over the world.
