Biography

Dyr Bul Schil is a musical conglomeration, created in 2004 by three school buddies, who wanted to perform their own songs in style of russian rock and minimalism, which afterwards gradually evolved into progressive rock and conceptual, mainly instrumental music. Until 2009 due to constant changes in the personnel the band didn't have any gigs and concentrated on perfecting the skills of studio recording. All albums from before 2008 can be related rather to russian rock with elements of minimalism and avant-garde. Since 2009 the guys decided to make stylistic and conceptual changes. Of the band's founding fathers then there were only two - Mikhail Bashkirov and Nikita Melnikov, who are the organizing ones. Then some new musicians have joined - Sergey Karpukhin and Alexander "Al Sigurdsson" Ankirskiy, who brought not only the new sound, but also their own songs and compositions. The band's current style is made of relatively simplified progressive rock (in particular its scandinavian branch), some avant-garde pieces, which are characteristic to the guys, post-rock, noise etc. All this, when trying to distinguish a style, is to be referred as "Dyr Bul Schil".
