Šiaurės Kryptis

Šiaurės Kryptis were a Lithuanian rock band. They were active from the 1980s to the 1990s. The band has only released one album to date, titled “Netiekto”. The songs on the album were composed through a period of several years while the band underwent several line-up changes. The second album was almost finished, but due to band break wasn’t released. 2011’s along with Netiekto re-release, two songs of it is released as bonus tracks.

Their name, in Lithuanian, means Northern Direction or Direction North, the North part of the names comes from a visit to Murmansk Oblast and the mountains in Northern Russia - the journey had a profound effect and the band decided that the word North should be in their name. The Direction part of their name represents the journey of life.

The band’s frontman Kristijonas Vildžiūnas is now a famous film director in Lithuania.
