Biography

Świetliki band was created in 1992 in Cracow (Poland) on the initiative of the poet Marcin Świetlicki. They performed for the first time during the poets’ meeting “Na Głos”, and their first listeners were, among others, Czesław Miłosz and Wisława Szymborska.

In 1993, Świetliki recorded their first album, “Ogród Koncentracyjny”, which has raised a great interest of the media and listeners. In November 1996 the band recorded their second album, “Cacy Cacy Fleischmaschine”, which was nominated to Fryderyk award in alternative music and sang poetry categories. The next album, “Perły przed Wieprze”, was released in 1999 and was nominated to Fryderyk award as well. In 2001, Świetliki recorded their most recent album, “Złe Misie”, on which you can also hear voices of Kasia Nosowska and Lech Janerka. In 2005, Świetliki invited the famous Polish actor - Bogusław Linda - to the collaboration, and released, as “Świetliki i Linda” band, the “Las Putas Melancólicas” album.
