Åbäke, the swedish word for a large and cumbersome object, is also known as laptop-based musician Rikard Jönsson Göteborg, Sweden. He was born in 1985 and has worked with making music in digital ways since 2003.

Coming from a background of post-rock and ambient/glitch combined with influences from acts such as Air, Trent Reznor, Efterklang, Philip Glass and Four Tet results in an instrumental pop, ambient, mid-fi soundscape.

Åbäke gained much attention when Portishead posted his cover of their song Roads on their blog a couple of years ago.
