Took me a while to realize how good this is. I've had a hard time getting into MIke's stuff but this is the first album that's really clicked for me. The pads are depressing and comforting at the same time and I love how the noise is worked into the beat. When I put this album on I'm transported to some bleak otherworld with nothing but my own thoughts and distorted memories of more innocent times. Even the "happy" tracks feel like a mere temporary reprieve from the dread that characterizes the rest of the album, and you can still feel it lurking at the periphery of the soundscape, as if to remind you that the joy will pass and everything is NOT going to be okay. Equal parts nostalgia, sadness and numb fear. Music like this makes it alright to feel bad.

Not my type of "idm" ... But "Prongh Seemness" sounds really good, though

Kind of sounds like a slightly depressing Win98 educational point-and-click game on a sunday evening

At last we have the kind of dubstep an IDM lover would be able to ingest without making a sour face.

Is there another glitchtronic break-up album in existence, much less one this amazing? the synth sounds on this album are some of my favorite ever, and the melancholy translates beautifully. my favorite from paradinas, along with the mike & rich album.
