Seattle, United States

An industrial act from Seattle in the Late 90’s, Tchkung! combined tribal drumming, scrap metal, fiddle use and leanings into a potent mix.

Known for politics, incorporating traditional instruments and / music into the scrap metal percussion and turbulent live shows digressing into street parades or molotov demonstrations, it was clear that unlike incitement to revolt, mainstream acceptance was never a goal. Fans of Cop Shoot Cop, Swans, or Crash Worship however will find much to enjoy.

Now broken up, members have gone on to form Infernal Noise Brigade.

Saw this band many many times in the late 90's, and actually knew them a bit. Went to a house party once with all the members (Mark Arm from Mudhoney was there, too) during a particularly political phase in my life. There was nothing quite like Seattle in the 90's. I miss those days.

This band was around in the early 90's. Saw them play a show in Bellingham @ Club USA back in 92 with Citizen Fish and 10:07.

Amazing group in terms of their political message, creativity, shows! Wish they were still around! Saw them in 99 in Seattle, never been to another show with so much fire, mud, crazy drumming and great music :)
