Well everybody it appears an introduction is required
For real I’m not upset it’s a chance for me to recite some
Grew up in DC therefore I’m trained in politics
started singing songs I knew at about the age of six
Catholic school trained to do as I was told to
learned to read between the lines from all the lies I was exposed to
JROTC High School; top choice for the military
but by that time I decided to make a mark that’s legendary
As I started college, life took a turn
I was introduced to Haile Selassie the First
So suffice it to say I grew my locks for 15 years
and as to be expected I saw much blood sweat and tears
seen a lot of places upper class don’t get
and as a consequence amongst them I just don’t fit
but to my benefit in comes Selassie the First
to remind me of the intelligence Rasta elders rehearse
which is making sure to use your talents for what they’re worth
As the community needs that energy to rebuild the Earth
So I’ve pursued that philosophy as I progress through time
and continued my education in how to produce things online
Completed my MFA in 2010
and a few days ago decided to pick up a pen again
well maybe that’s antiquated cuz for real I be typing
madd candles burning as I stay up all night and
recite these rhymes into a mic as my children sleep tight then
post these joints up everywhere and see if y’all like them
Of course all this rhyming is just one part of my artistry
and doing it formally is still quite new to me
