Down in the workshop all the elves were makin' toys
For the good Gentile girls and the good Gentile boys
When the boss busted in, nearly scared 'em half to death
Had a rifle in his hands and cheap whiskey on his breath

@goldspot7 I think you mean "parody" not cover, and I believe this is a Weird Al original. :P

DeathDarky: the "infamous crime" is the album version. The SWAT killing Santa is the "Extra Gory Version" available on the Amish Paradise single.

I haven't heard this version. In the other one "He'll be out with good behavior in 700 more years." In this one he gets his brains blown out.

Wow, this tune really takes me back! I remember being confused bc the liner notes said it wasn't a cover, but it's obviously a Soul Asylum song.

The lyrics are different to the version I listened to. I listened to the song which said: "Yes Virginia, now Santa's doing time In a Federal prison for his infamous crime Hey little friend now, don't you cry no more tears He'll be out on good behaviour in seven hundred more years. But now Vixen's in therapy and Donner's still nervous And the elves all got jobs working for the postal service And they say Mrs. Claus she's on the phone every night With a lawyer negotiating the movie rights."

Such a fun song and video . . . as long as you don't mind some cartoon violence.
