brazilian indepent label established on 1989.

started as a xeroxed-fanzine. In 1991 released a cassete compilation with edition #4 of the zine. In 1994, the 2nd cassete on zine #5.

In 1994, stopped publishing fanzines and started releasing only cassetes of brazilian indie bands, Drivellers and The Cigarettes debuting the label.

In 1997 midsummer madness released it’s first two CDs: Pelvs “members to sunna” and The Cigarettes “bingo”. In the same year, opened it’s website: www.mmrecords.com.br

In 1998 started promoting a midsummer madness’ festival called Algumas Pessoas tentam te Fuder (portuguese translation for a Teenage Fanclub song called Some People Try to Fuck with You).

In 2005 launched version 2.0 of the website www.mmrecords.com.br with songs for free-download and streaming and started releasing online EPs.

Since 1991, midsummer madness released 79 EPs (distributed in cassete tapes, CDRs and MP3), 20 CDs and more than 500 songs. Unofficial counter marks more tham 5.000 cassetes sold and more than 18.000 CDs so far.
