Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg. here beats the very heart of Zeitgeist: anything that is or is taken as fashion, trends, underground.
das drehmoment has been situated here for more than seven years now. The small busy label, also running an exquisitly assorted mailorder, is steering away from the fancy mix of lifestyle gimmicks and identity offers. das drehmoment goes in for competence and ambition with an attitude of confident understatement, instead of spreading slang and lingo clichés.

It friendly invites you to join the cosmos of magenta-red, cyan-blue, retro-future, full of cow bells, glamour, neonlight and lipstick, perfumed with Moroder and Morricone, Carpenter and Bladerunner, Roland 808, Korg MS 20 and, of course, lots of Moog.

das drehmoment became the first address for insiders after a short time. In the labels rooster you can find old and new school electro, disco, new wave, minimal, synth pop and dark electronics.
The labels main ambition is to explore new talents with their own profile and to support them intensly. The first EP of Suicide Booth - ‘Aura’ received standing ovations (i. e.: ‘best release of the genre 2007’). Makina Girgir is a project that praises the spirit of retro-wave with their EP ‘The Spell’ (i.e.: ‘some of the best electro available today’).
But not only newcomers sign at das drehmoment. DJ Overdose, also known under The Hasbeens and together with Mr. Pauli as Novamen, feels very comfortable at the label. His italo-disco-pearl ‘Take Me Home’, released under the projectname Dream Disco, makes the 80ies glitter again.
