Defunct German and label, that started the / hype in Germany in 1989 and lived until late 1999. After the doors closed some of the bands went to the label’s unofficial successor Bloodline (who themselves folded several years later), the labels Metropolis Records and Cleopatra (who had re-released and distributed a number of albums in the US while Zoth Ommog was still solvent), or simply retired to resurface a decade later and sign with Infacted Recordings.

Zoth Ommog was the driving force in the european electro scene for almost a decade!

The label was originally found by Talla 2XLC of Bigod 20 fame in 1989. After Talla 2XLC decided to go for a more Trance/Techno style with the labels SUCK ME PLASMA , TECHNOCLUB RECORDINGS & TETSUO RECORDINGS , the label was handed over to the A&R control of Sven Freuen. When Sven decided to leave Zoth Ommog (1994) the label was run by Alexander Hergenhahn for a short period (about 7 months) before it was taken over by Torben Schmidt (1995) of Lights of Euphoria (founder of Infacted Recordings) who brought the label back to former strength by signing acts such as Funker Vogt, Melotron, Front 242, Numb, Front Line Assembly and In Strict Confidence to the label. After two years Dennis Ostermann (In Strict Confidence) was added to the label as its promoter. Torben & Dennis left the label in late 1998 right before it went under in late 1999. The last A&R for Zoth Ommog were Andreas Lechleiter and Vernon Baur with only 4 CDs released in the last 12 months of the labels existence.
