Woodshed Recordings

From studios on 1 Wood Lane comes Woodshed Recordings. Woodshed is purely about good music regardless of genre or species - here we live in tree houses, employ sturgeon fish (which can adapt to salt water environments btw) and have a tendency to adopt wild Panthers.

The Virgil Sturgeon (hiphop)

From the streets of the Lower East Side New York, the City of Light and London Town come Daniel Jackson, Gabriel Mimouni and Simon Waller, who unite to form the Virgil Sturgeon – All three of these well worn journey men have been working on music since they could stutter, cry, and sometimes talk…Three different countries, three different people. Dan met Gab, Gab met Simon, Simon met Dan, and the three laughed and talked of Eq’s and LP’s.

Here you will be given the bait and tackle, rods and reels, wet suits, snorkels, flippers, and a single engine propeller motor boat to make this expedition a bit more Cousteau-ish. Peter Sellers has resurrected, and he told me to tell you all that we suspect everything, and we suspect nothing. What do you expect?

P for Panther (cinematic)

Salut! Simon Waller and Gabriel Mimouni join forces to create a fast paced cinematic blend of freshness, sprinkled with the dopest of drum beats/breaks and the most haunting of cello parts. Trumpets, guitars, pianos and other magnetic noises are thrown into their caldron of sound to push their music to supreme limits, that thrive with passion and burst with fruit flavour.

Si and Gab met in Paris, summer 2005 – they went on to record an EP in Paris, near the Bastille. They are currently composing music for a performance in a Parisian theatre.

Treehouse (woodshed recordings) (ambient/experimental/acoustic)

Treehouse is Si Waller. The tracks were recorded in his musical tree house of noise, up in the sky. Treehouse have collaborated with visual artists and composed music to short films and screenings; one of which was exhibited in Moscow, Rotterdam and screened in Paris. The music has also been used in film documentaries, exhibitions, for advertising, on delarge.co.uk and in a children’s ballpool play area called monkeybizness where you can hear Si making noises like a monkey and using other animal samples.

Recline your seat, hit play, close your eyes and tune into this elegant, enigmatic sound…
