Thee Sheffield Phonographic Corporation, or Thee SPC, is an independent record label based in Sheffield, UK. The label was formed by members of the bands Velodrome 2000, The Motherfuckers and Chuck, and has an extensive catalogue. Thee SPC has released fourteen 7” singles and eight albums (jncluding two compilations) by various Sheffield-based bands with a leaning towards indiepop, electronica and garage punk. “Virtual vinyl” is also available from the label’s website, in the form of free downloads, often giving a taste of album releases.

Their roster has included:

Slow Down Tallahassee
Smokers Die Younger
The Bon Bon Club
Champion Kickboxer
The Long Blondes
The Motherfuckers
Monkey Swallows The Universe
The Scarlet Tuesday
Balor Knights
Heart Yeah
Meat For A Dark Day
The Interiors
Standard Fare

The label has also produced six issues of the irregular fanzine “Thee Humbug”. The ‘zine always includes a CD of tracks by the featured artists. The second issue is now a collector’s piece, as the CD features an early track by the then unknown Arctic Monkeys and some rare Long Blondes material.
