Stones Throw Records is a California-based hip hop independent record label. Started in 1996 by DJ/Producer Peanut Butter Wolf in San Jose, Ca. Its subsidiaries Now-Again and Soul Cal specialize in funk and soul re-issues.

Stones Throw is home to Madlib and many of his projects - Madvillain, Jaylib, Yesterdays New Quintet, Quasimoto, Sound Directions and Lootpack. Other notable artists on the Stones Throw’s past and present roster include The Turntablist (aka DJ Babu), Rob Swift, Rasco, Breakestra, Oh No, Dudley Perkins, J Dilla (aka Jay Dee), and Koushik.

J Dilla’s final album during his lifetime, “Donuts” was released by Stones Throw in February 2006.

Upcoming releases from the label include Roc C’s “All Questions Answered” (June 27), Aloe Blacc’s “Shine Through” (July 11), and Oh No’s “Exodus Into Unheard Rhythms” (August 11).
