It all began as “Ankry Simons” back in 1989. After releasing their first record “some people are only in it for the money” , they changed their name to “STEAKKNIFE” and such earned their place in the hall of fame of the most stupid bandnames, but what the heck…
Today, 5 albums, 7 singles, several tours through Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic etc. and 18 years later, they still rule magnificient over the German punkrock scene.

How they managed to maintain their ideals, their verve and fun, their uncompromising style and attitude is a vividly discussed secret. Some say, they are not of this earth…
Especially on stage, STEAKKNIFE are as fresh and powerful as in their early days. Always focused on what they can do best: punkrock! This is no copy, STEAKKNIFE are genuine, more genuine that you might like it…
And in the middle of it all: Lee Hollis. One of the rare nice texans. A man who never got forgotten despite never having been on any talkshow. Known as a charismatic bandleader (also in the legendary Spermbirds and 2Bad), a gifted column writer, author or spoken-word-performer, Lee Hollis knows how to feed his reputation.
With their latest album “Parallel Universe of the Dead” (released in march 2007, on ROOKIE RECORDS) STEAKKNIFE have proved that they still kick ass. Yes, mates, we still are better than you!
