Spun Records was founded by Seth Hoffmann & G.M.S. (Growling Mad Scientists) in 1999 and became the first label in the U.S.A. releasing Psychedelic Trance music. By the first two CD releases: “GMS Vs Systembusters”, and “Genetic Process”, SPUN had firmly established itself within the scene as a label of high quality and exclusive releases, specializing in the full on side of the sonic spectrum. Spun planted the flag of the “Outdoor Party Sound”, the sound which has remained to become more and more popular as the new millennium unraveled.

In 2002, Wayan Blue joins the spun team to further develop the image of spun while expanding the electronic music scene and to streamline the operation of the label.

In the Hollywood limelight was the news of Spun artists G.M.S. and Zorba music chosen for Director Tony Scott and his Hollywood blockbuster movie “Man On Fire” in 2004 & his 2005 hit “Dominoe”.

Summer 2005 was full of spun events, starting with monthly spun parties at Club Privilege in Ibiza (world largest club) featuring spuns finest artists. Mid summer, Spun Records created the Freedom Festival, a 4 day event in Portugal that featured some of the best live acts & Dj’s in the trance scene with over 8000 people in attendance.

Other highlights of 2005 was the opening of Nice Dreams Music (NDM), the sub label of spun. NDM is a diverse mix of ambient /chill /electro/club & house music. With the first release “Multiple Organisms” receiving great reviews by the ambient & chillout music scene. With one release out and more in the works, its looks like a nice dream in the making…
