Glass Mountain

Glass Mountain is the new creation from Jona Byron of The boats, and what an exciting creation it is. Byron has made no intention to be subtle about his new project 'Glass Mountain' with the new track. The Wild Strain of Nature explodes into a sonic wave of distorted beats, psychedelic guitar and dance bass, accompanied by some very tasty electronic flurries. In fact the swirling mass of extreme frequencies give the song a lo-fi yet extremely inventive texture, even the vocals shape shift and pulsate. Byron seems to use these audible signals as a warning, that this terrain is dangerous, so approach with caution.
Plasticity however is a track which echoes a cold steel city of isolation, despair and yet also dawns a faint hope. The song rings true the human detachment to the natural order of life "We live in worrisome times, with miles of cable and no birds". Byron speaks to a loved one, yet also reflects on the social climate of the planet and the somewhat inability to adapt to the ever growing rat race.
Glass Mountain is a sublime hypnotic journey that one will get lost in if one allows one's self to, and the climb has only just begun.
