And then you ask: “What is Soopa?”

We are a lot of things: a musicians’ collective, concert promoters, and a record label, an ever-mutating structure that revolves around the Porto, Portugal-based core of Jonathan hhyScumClash and Filipe The Banshee, with a massive of close collaborators and many occasional partners from all over the map, both musically and geographically.

Soopa is, by nature, a collaborative and promiscuous entity, interacting with multiple partners, the results manifesting themselves in various forms (sometimes only partially visible), including remix projects, radio shows, compilation appearances and on-stage collaborations.

This floating iceberg on the sea of music knows no aesthetic anchors, since we’re happy to let ourselves be touched by any potent sonic impulse.
In a timespan of about 4 years, Soopa’s catalogue now counts 10 releases since early 2005 (you can view our catalogue on this site or at www.soopa.org/muzik.html).
