Version 31

Hey Ropeadope Fans,

Who watch the best show on tv right now, that is to say “True Blood”? And if you watched the latest episode you may have noticed that the music playing at Maryann’s crazy pool party when Andy Bellfleur shows up was none other than…Power (Voodoo Version) by King Britt & Sister Gertrude Morgan. Anyone got any v?

Also there were 2 releases this week, let’s start with JDT
JDT’s first album with Ropeadope, “Inventing the Wheel” was released yesterday, on June 29th. Jason Domnarski, front man for JDT, is not your typical jazz pianist as shown in the new album. A young, talented man with an understanding of not only his music, but of what shapes music. His music is the culmination of jazz, rock, and Jason’s unique interpretation of electronics. Do not take his youth to be a disadvantage, but clearly something that allows him to reach further and into an art form where the young are seldom great. Having formed himself in New York City Jason and JDT has proven to the world they can hold their own.

All About Jazz writes,“the trio sports a new and playfully decadent guise, thanks to pianist & composer Jason Domnarski’s crafty musical mindset” and the New York Times states, “Jason Domnarski is a promising young keyboardist with a deep atunement to pop production and orchestration.” But don’t take their word for it. Listen to Inventing the Wheel, learn about JDT and decide for yourself.

Also coming up this week, the 10 years anniversary compilation released by Ropeadope for this special occasion, do not miss it and come back check us out for more information!

Listen to and learn about JDT
