The birth of Revolver Records can be traced back to 1982, having started as an offshoot from its sister label Heavy Metal Records (which itself began in 1979). Since then, Revolver has been at the forefront of new music, signing acts such as The Stone Roses & Jane’s Addiction. The label’s mantra has always been to promote new and upcoming artists - giving a leg up to quality artists who might otherwise go unheard. Today, Revolver Records operates alongside Heavy Metal Records as a fully-fledged label in its own right, releasing new artists, sourcing and promoting new talent from the Midlands, the UK and further afield. Amongst our other incubation projects is a new service called Revolver Digital which further reinforces our core aim of promoting new and upcoming artists by offering them affordable, accessible access to selling digital music.

Our thirtieth year continues to yield new, innovative developments within the business, all ensuring that Revolver continues to bring the world the best new musical talent around in new and exciting ways. Oh, and while we’re doing all of this, we’re still finding the time to challenge peoples’ perceptions of indie labels. Rest assured that even while we’re expanding our catalogue, we’ll still be doing what we do best - releasing great music - and here’s where you’ll hear it first.
