Red Wharf’s output initially was that of Graham Bowers; these releases included Of Mary’s Blood, Transgression, Eternal Ghosts, Pilgrim . Although relatively quiet for the last few years due to health problems, new works by Graham Bowers are scheduled for release in the spring of 2007, Red Wharf’s musical output has now expanded and includes the works of William Henshall, Dark Opus being his first release on the label. Other artists include Mel (Dr.Ian Mellish) who has an expansive catalogue of musical works composed and recorded over the last 27 years, two double albums Details 1&2 and Details 3&4, which are collections of short pieces as examples of his work were the first to be released. These were followed by Television and the Bomb and Washing Fluid Art, both having associated ‘Graphic Scores’ in the form of two dimensional artwork.
The music label forms one aspect of Red Wharf; other artistic activities include painting, sculpture, stage design for theatre productions, soundscores for film and video, sound for art installations and latterly short art films.
