PAN-ZEN became manifest through the collective desires ov a group of musicians and artist/activists who performed as PANdrogynous Ad Nauseum (P.A.N.). Sasha Drumure (Cheap Dark Places, FreQ TranzMission, Samadhi), Adam Graff (ICD-9, FreQ TranzMission, GreenStar), Llewyn Máire (HSEF, FreQ TranzMission, kAbbage, Sardonik Grin, Try My Cabbage), and Phoebe (ICD-9, FreQ TranzMission, Pedro).
Through the need to produce specific environments in which to perform, the group began producing its own shows… PANdrogynous preZENtationz… After camping and performing with S.P.A.Z, (Semi Permanent Autonomous Zone), at the second Autonomous Mutant Festival, Llewyn Máire and Phoebe decided to ritually formalize the group into a soundsystem…

Several backgrounds and communities converged; from artivists performing with Crash Worship or Coprolingus – to – fire and body play - to – participation at Spiral Tribe happenings and other freetek eventz– to- circus arts and butô – to – TOPI and IOT ritual theatre– to – studio and classically trained musicians
Over the years many projectz have developed around, within, and through PAN-ZEN, creating an ever-expanding nettwyrk ov musicians, performance activists, live artists, video mxrz, body and movement actionists, organizers, painters, chefs, and the undefined…
