In addition to this, they’ve been in touch with a few bands over the past months to try and get their music in stock for the shop. A couple of times it proved difficult, because the bands were at an early stage and as such didn’t have physical CDs, or weren’t sure how to proceed when a shop approached them. What would be a better way to continue helping fans get their music if not helping the bands make it available? A logical progression was therefore to expand Oxide Tones to become a label, which can support the bands by having distribution channels in place, physical and/or digital, financial support with CD pressing and so on. Musicians are experts at making music, and unless they specifically want to handle everything themselves, they should have a reliable partner to help them with other aspects of the music business.
Over the next weeks and months there will be more news coming, and right now we’re already talking to a few bands on how we can help. If you know of bands from the genre that want to use a small label to get themselves going, send them in their direction!
