Monstro Discos was formed in 1998 to put out records from brazilian independent artists. The label is heavily focused on alternative music and works with a various media formats ranging from 7” vinyl compacts, CDs, DVDs and even K7 and VHS. The label was voted the best of 2001 by the Dynamite magazine. Some of the artists signed with them: Wry , Walverdes , Prole , Momento 68 , Mechanics , MQN , Snooze , Hang The Superstars , Nem , Brinde , Prot(o), The Books , Sapatos Bicolores , Ambervisions , Violins , Autoramas , Canastra , Divine , Retrofoguetes , RELESPUBLICA , Ratos de Porao .
