On March 20th, Nashville, TN based rock band LENNY released their debut EP “We Are Criminals”. At first glance it is a first step for the band. However, this band has already been on quite a journey…and they’re just getting started.

“I started this band about three years ago”, says LENNY frontman JD Dickerson. “It was a high school hobby that grew into something of more importance, for both me and Jason”. JD speaks of Jason Gilmore, his bass wielding “partner in crime.” The band went through a number of transformations and incarnations before landing with feet firmly planted on the ground for the creation of “We Are Criminals”. “After I graduated high school, I went to college for a year. Jason was a year behind me, so he was in his senior year of high school. It was a definite time of self-discovery for both of us. We realized that LENNY was something we wanted to continue on with, and make a reality.”

The EP is full of powerful, anthemic tracks that range from the ballsy single “Run In A Circle” to the intricate, moving closer “Criminals”. Already at this early stage, Dickerson’s songwriting shows knacks for relavance and appeal as well as uniqueness and innovation. Thanks to previous national success with an independently released single that reached 14 Friday Morning Quarterback (FMQB) Submodern/Specialty Top 25 Singles chart in 2005, and the added momentum of the release of “We Are Criminals”, LENNY is garnering rapidly growing buzz around the country.

Dickerson is very optimistic about the future. “I couldn’t be more excited to be doing what I’m doing right now. We’re dedicated to sharing this music with anyone and everyone who will listen, and look forward to doing this for as long as we possibly can.
